The Lake Dress
Posted: Aug 19 2015
It is one of our most popular items and not only does it look great, but it has some great qualities to it as well!
Who Makes It?
The brand is called Atelier Delphine and is headed by the designer Yuka Izutsu. She counts Californian beach lifestyle of healthy, effortless, relaxed, French Riviera culture of sophisticated and romantic and her native Japan as her design inspirations. She gained her experience in L.A. where she trained at both the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
What Is It Made Of?
The fabric is 100% cotton (non organic) and is indigo dyed. Indigo dye is an organic compound with a distinctive blue colour that is extracted from plants. The fabric itself was manufactured in Japan.
How do I Wear It?
The best thing about the lake dress is that it can not only be worn through many seasons but also in different ways. The front panel ties can be tied, pinned and placed where ever you would like them to be. Tie them in a bow or a knot, even create your own design and secure with safety pins. It allows for your creative input. It also can easily translate between seasons. It is great in summer on its own or throw over a leather jacket for the fall with some moto boots or chunky ankle booties. It is a great investment that will last you a long time.
